Ā I found the frame bare and \a box of parts. I was just going to assemble it and sell it but after seeing all the eyelets for racks and fenders i decided to turn it into a lite touring bike. I have a BontraggerĀ DeluxeĀ rear rack on it along with theĀ messengerĀ pannier, I also have a set of touring rearĀ panniersĀ for it. I have recently installed the handle bar bag. The frame is aluminum, so not my favorite, but it isn't bad. So I'm having a workshop this evening. It's nice to have so many but I hated turning some away. It should be fun though. I hope. If time doesn't allow for it, we may not get to the scrapbook page. We shall see tonight. If I get some free time maybe I will post pictures later.

I know when I get there I will have a good time but I would really rather stay at home and just watch movies.

The exciting news this week is Gary's bike has finished another round of customizing. Several test rides and a few clutch adjustments later its ready to hit the road. The plan is to not touch anything else until the winter, just let it ride. All the sheetmetal work is protected by a few coats of clear coatĀ andĀ the pipes got a heavy coat of hi-temp black and wrapped. If the latest tricks hold up through the summer and still turns us on by winter time then, splashing shiny paint on the tins would be in order. Until then, RIDE ON! GANG.

Well, with the bum knee I obtained recently, there will be a definite shift to doing some heavy gravel road work in my future.

That should be okay, given that I have a fair amount of recon riding ahead of me for the GTDRI, which will be at the end of July. I suspect I'll be finally putting those Geax Evolution tires to rock then, and riding a fair bit on the new Salsa Cycles Cowbell II bars I recently got in to try out. Then I will be spin, spin, spinning away the miles on gravel to rehab the knee and not put too much force on it for a bit.

And as for that knee, it is swollen, gets stiff, gets "loosey-goosey", and is sometimes aches beyond words.

If I stay on the Advil regimen, it sometimes feels perfectly normal. Basically, I think it is just inflamed, bruised, and ticked off at me for the time being. The hole I punched through to the knee cap is closed now, so that skin should be repairing itself, and there are no worries with that. Mrs. Guitar Ted made sure there would be no chances for infection, that's for sure! I have been walking on it a bit, just to keep active, but alternating that with some ice, and some elevation of the leg at times. "Bike Shop Tales" returns with a story that I think is timely, given that it is late July and all. Our friend Kelly is hosting a card drive for a sweet little girl named Emma. It would be wonderful if we could all send in some happy cards to cheer up her day! Check out this post for details and more information! A card like this one by Samantha Mann from our Flickr group would be perfect! It is cute and happy! So let's get crafty and spread some cheer! Sending big hugs to you all!
